A native Floridian born in Daytona Beach, Michael D. Rouse has lived in the State his entire life. A member of the first graduating class of Lake Mary High School (1984), Michael attended college at the University of Central Florida and graduated cum laude from UCF with a B.A. in Political Science in 1988 and a minor in mathematics. While at UCF, Michael made the President's List and Dean's List with honors.
Following his undergraduate work, Michael attended law school at Florida State University College of Law, earning his Juris Doctorate with High Honors in 1991. Michael graduated FSU in the top 5% of his class and earned membership in the prestigious Order of the Coif. While in law school, he earned numerous academic honors and served on the FSU Law Review from 1989-91, including a semester as an Associate Editor in 1991 when his 1991 Law Review article earned the Book Award.

With a practice limited solely to workers’ compensation defense cases, Michael has been a member of the Workers' Compensation Section of the Florida Bar since 1991. He has been Board Certified in Workers' Compensation since 1999. A certified instructor and lecturer in workers' compensation by the Florida Department of Financial Services, Michael's legal experience includes work with the Florida Bar assisting with the question drafting and grading of the Florida Bar Examination. He is a member of the Christian Legal Society and The Judge William Wieland American Inn of Court.
Michael is married to Rachelle C. Rouse, also an attorney. They have been blessed with three amazing sons, two daughters-in-law, and a granddaughter. Michael's community service and volunteer activities include work with various non-profits, including many years on the Board of Directors for the Association of Christian Youth Sports, an Orlando area youth sports organization. A member of Grace Church Orlando, Michael enjoys travel, hiking, skiing, and visiting many national parks.
Rachelle C. Rouse has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1991 and is proud to have served the Central Florida community for over 30 years. She attended High Point University and graduated cum laude in 1987 with a B.S. in International Business. She then attended Florida State Law School, earning her Juris Doctorate with Honors in 1990.
While in law school she received various academic honors including the Shackleford, Farrior, Stallings & Evans Book Award in Litigation Skills. Following law school Rachelle went on to serve as an Assistant State Attorney in Orange County, Florida, trying over 100 jury trials during her tenure there.
After leaving the State Attorney’s Office she served as a Pro Bono Attorney working with the Orange County Legal Aid Office as a Guardian Ad Litem, representing the interests of children who have suffered from neglect, abuse or sexual abuse.
Rachelle has been married to her husband, Michael D. Rouse for over 30 years. She currently serves as the Teaching Leader for Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) in Longwood, Florida and has served as a leader within BSF since 2014. Rachelle enjoys spending time with her family and sharing the love of Jesus with those God places in her life.
